Beautiful day. I was happy to hike the full 40 plus I did get to raft through Mule Canyon. My map logged me at over 8 miles. The river starts on Hwy 62 a little more than an hours drive from I-5. At the head of the gorge sits Pearsony falls, located in theOregon State Park known asProspect State Scenic Viewpoint, is about15 feet tall and cascades picturesquely in two sections underneath a green canopy and between mossy rocks. The Isaac Lee Patterson Bridge, also known as the Rogue River Bridge and the Isaac Lee Patterson Memorial Bridge, is a concrete arch bridge that spans the Rogue River in Curry County, Oregon. Sites have a fair amount of shade and privacy. we decided to just park in the open space and hike on the old road. Decently cool but do NOT go past the paved trail. Longer hiking options continue upstream to the Rogue Gorge along the river. 97% of travelers recommend this experience. The river is generally cold until June or July, Aug is the best time to swim and travel the river. This is certainly a worthwhile stop. You will see so much of the back country. The 2-mil e trail starts at the Natural Bridge Viewpoint parking lot, and goes upriver on the Rogue River's east side. The viewpoint is a short walk of less than 1 mile from the parking lot or 1.5mile from the Union Creek Resort.
